This is a very interesting article in my opinion. Windows is only hanging on because that is what people are used to, and Microsoft has, so to speak, cornered the manufacturers into pre-installing it on their computers. This article was written in the days of Vista; 7, a relatively good OS, came in-between Vista and 8, helping to stave off the death of Microsoft. Eclipse makes you lazy

So! Many blue moons! (see my other post). My son is now almost 5 and this is my second post.

I have moved from C to Java as my primary programming language. After using Eclipse for some time I had to modify some of my old C code. I opened Kate and started looking around. I kept pressing F3 and not finding what I expected. Yes that's the same F3 I kept swearing about when it wouldn't repeat my previous search.

Now browsing my old code to find what a called function does,...

Ditch Deja Vu Sans Condensed, use Liberation Sans, and be happy

I used to like the condensed variant of Deja Vu, which is the default font (in the regular variation) for many linux distributions/DEs I guess. I've always disliked the regular variant, I find it too wide, while the condensed is very nice to look at. It's quite a hassle to actually use it everywhere though, either the font is buggy, or the apps that read it are buggy. I think it's the former as other fonts with two "nested subtypes/variants" work (such as liberation). The GUI settings...
