Regex in LibreOffice

Posted 05-24-2016 at 05:06 AM by HMW

Although I prefer to work with text in editors, and not in word processors, I sometimes have to. Today I faced a massive editing task in a formatted .rtf document. I had to iron out some "bugs" in the text. Such as no space after a dot:
FOOBAR.Foobar.

Now, going through this massive text and look for these occurances manually clearly wasn't an option. I'd rather eat a cactus. Had it been "normal" - not formatted - text, I could have used regular expressions...

How To Remove Files When the rm -rf fails

Posted 05-23-2016 at 10:55 PM by Ztcoracat

Not being able to remove files with the rm -rf command is pretty annoying.
When make uninstall or make clean fails as well try this:

Open the Natailus file manager as 'root':
Code:
sudo gksu natailus
Once the file manager launches be careful where you go and what you delete.
Either delete from the right click menu or send those unwanted files to the trash.

If you only have a handful of files to remove/delete you can get rid of them...

Finally getting some beautiful weather here in Central Illinois. I told my wife, that we will be leaving for Florida in late Oct/16 and not returning until May/17. See said, 'We've got a lot of work for the new home in Florida. I said, 'I am not going to Florida to work all the time'. I will do what can be done and hire what I can no longer do physically. I am not going to put that new hardwood down that she wants in the rest of the house. I've done the last three homes with hardwood...

I'm not sure what OS I wound up with on that gold EeePC. I gave/loaned it to a person who lost everything or had it stolen and needed a computer badly. I told him if he ever gets something better to send it back.

A few weeks later I started missing it, and wound up buying a white EeePC 1015 PEM. I added the extra RAM, and it just wouldn't run Win7. I could not get it to accept anything else either -- so I found a friend willing to work on it for me and mailed it to him. Turns out...
