NEWS 240209 ABOUT ExTiX with Deepin 23 BETA 3
I’ve released a new version of ExTiX Deepin today (240209). The previous ExTiX Deepin version with Deepin 23 BETA 2 is from 240110. This ExTiX Build is based on Deepin 23 BETA 3 (latest version) released by Deepin Technology on February 2, 2024. The developers urge people to try Deepin BETA 3 in a non-production environment! Posted 01-25-2024 at 11:37 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

NEWS 240125 ABOUT exGENT (Gentoo) 64 bit
I’ve made a new EXTRA version of exGENT with only a few necessary packages pre-installed. The system is built from “scratch”. I.e. installed the “Gentoo way” following the Gentoo Handbook. It uses LXDE as Desktop Environment and kernel 5.15.80-gentoo-x86_64 (Gentoo’s original kernel) while running the system live (from a DVD or a USB stick). After a hard drive installation kernel 6.7.1 (latest stable kernel version) will be used. This exGENT build...

REPLACEMENT
This version (240121) replaces version 230121 (Systemd) and version 230109 (OpenRC).

WHAT’S NEW in exGENT Build 240121?
The boot loader Grub Legacy has been replaced by Grub2. In exGENT versions before 170309 the file system wasn’t writable when running exGENT live (from DVD). Now you can emerge (install) new programs/packages even while running the system from a DVD or USB stick. If you do that and later decide to install exGENT to hard drive all your changes...
