One of the best rock 'n roll songs ever, from one of the best rock 'n roll albums ever, from one of the best rock 'n roll bands ever.... and as if that wasn't enough it's live and the recording quality is incredible like trying to mic a tornado
After release of Dark Side of the Moon a lot of their concert material consists of that and The Wall. With the exception of Wish You Were Here, I usually don't listen to Animals or anything after that very often.
some serious confusion here! you need to get pink floyd's releases in order!
earliest first:
dark side of the moon -- wish you were here -- animals -- the wall
(i left out a few)
(sorry for being a nitpicker, as an ex-fan i couldn't resist)
actually.., the whole darned record is turning in loops while I do some plasterwork... for hours, already. One of the few CDs that I converted from Vinyl, which are still playable. They last much less than 20 years. This technology is crap.
I'll be changing that against some Whitesnake or whatever.., now.
Check out Liz Meyer, if you can and like this type of bluegrass. The Due-CD with Mark Cosgrove is just mind-blowing...
I met Liz twice and wanted to suggest that I care for her Web-site which was in a terrible state of decomposition at that time. Unfortunately, in Germany, “long-time acquaintances” use to besiege “their” artist during the concert-pause to share some “memories” that the artist then politely smiles about... She was signalling me to intervene, but I chose to let her handle the fans.
She's gone, now (and I prefer Liz' version of the song) (Not available).
EDIT: +@!#^/%&!!!

a trip down memory lane, early 80s - what do The Residents, Yello and Tuxedomoon have in common?
They all released on Ralph Records at some point.
while The Residents have always been a tad too weird for my taste - without being all too interesting - these still catch my attention:
Yello - The Evening's Young - incredibly 80s artsy supercool video! and the singer really looked like that! wikipedia defines him as a "professional gambler".
The only version I knew so far, is the live-recording on “Waiting for Columbus”. In view of those many great different versions (and even covers), I have to give that song a try, myself... Yet another piece from a place I have never been to, times I have not lived in.., in a language that is not my own.
And of course. Dealing stuff, that I do know nothing about. The ideal song, when the people around you call their sudden insanity “long-standing tradition”.
