He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread.

In an earlier thread I gave a jocular proposal for all Slackware releases to be named after entities in the Cthulhu...

N.B. This blog post is a work in progress. All readers are invited to suggest improvements if needs be.

This post is something I've been meaning to do for a while, it's a simplified instruction set on kernel upgrades for Slackware stable and current branch.

I should, first and foremost, point out that this post is a supplement to the instructions over at Slackdocs and both assumes you will have read the relevant documentation on kernel upgrades....

I told myself Id write a post when I eventually got this sorted out. Im not a long-term Linux user, I started in Feb 2017 with Ubuntu, moving onto Debian in April 2017 and Slackware in January 2018. I had been intrigued by Slackware for years and wanted to run it for as long: it was a like a geek-goal, some sort of nerd ambition. But I also knew that the road to doing so would be hard, and Id have a steep learning curve and a lot of research...
