Software to port to linux?
Photoshop!!!
GIMP is also wonderful, but photoshop supports (more) bunches of amazing effects and blending options. It also provides real-time previews (which GIMP often can't do). Also, the interface is also more intuitive-to-use than that one in GIMP's.

I really miss the 'blending options' and its filters (and plugins), though
Next after photoshop would be Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge (but I think that audacity is quite a replacement for an amateur like me... )
Also, features that you won't find in GIMP (but exist in Adobe Photoshop, should be conveyed, so they can be added later on.
An excellent post!!
What does Nero offer that k3b doesn't?
Where there is a Linux equivalent to a windows program, the missing features in the Linex program would be more helpful for this thread than just posting a wish list or should this be a separate thread?
I Highly dought developers of different softwares will browse linuxquestions.org for suggestions.. and then find this post.. but anyways here is what I would like
