M$ itself is now supporting cross platform. I read an article on the M$-website after a link I followed from a slashdot article. A Word 2003 document can now be saved as *.xtml.
Did You read the slashdot article? Howdy, within ten years or less, Microsoft will be dead. After they tryed to make a worthless port to Linux. This is not a joke, as it may looks like. Google this OS. They allready had many lawsuits against m$ allready. BUT the funny part is that they work for m$. Yeas it's not a joke. It's strategy. What they try to reach with all this is that they make two completely opposite OS's so they can hit, or they TRY to hit, the market on both ends. If one dies the other just keeps on going. But... we all know that won't happen
Sorry to break your illusion, but this IS a joke site.
Well, the site I linked to is probably a joke . But M$ has a Linux developpement centre and bought a 'few' major linux developpers. But in the end they don't really have a choice, right? If everyone's going to claim linux is better m$ will eventually make their own ms-linux, so people think the next m$ product is great because it is Linux. They will probably sell it for $99,95 and it will, once again, be shipped with every Dell pc
My dad said he doesn't like Linux at all, but he wants to have it now because it just works and doesn't need to load a lot of anti-crap software into the ram. Imagine what we have to do today to make it work: Defragmentate every month. Run Hitman Pro(donwload link - this site is dutch but the software is english/winxp) every week for about 4 hours. Scan 30 minutes for anti-spyware every week. Today we can't use that OS anymore without having 9 bilion spyware threats on your pc. There is a solution: buy all software in shops and never use internet - can you imagine?
An excellent post!!
What does Nero offer that k3b doesn't?
Where there is a Linux equivalent to a windows program, the missing features in the Linex program would be more helpful for this thread than just posting a wish list or should this be a separate thread?
Have you ever tried to burn a .img file to a dvd? This is a snap in Nero, but in K3B it tells you that it isn't a valid iso file. I don't care, it works and I want it on the disk!
Nero is the king for a good reason. Keep working K3B, maybe one day you'll be good enough to use in place of Nero (then Nero will have to become free or die out and we'll all use Nero free!)
Of course that M$ site is a stupid joke written by someone with nothing better to do with their time. It talks about Microsoft invading Cuba blah blah blah...
