the Matrix is just a poor superhero movie.
All those are fan made fake trailers. Can you please point to a more legitimate source?
Use search engine? Maybe they are not sure about release date or won't release till some other movie comes out or something but it is valid rumor..or was at least.
I just watched Bathing Beauty, with Esther Williams, Red Skelton, and Basil Rathbone. It's old (1944), but it was a hoot, half musical and half slapstick.
My father was a big Red Skelton fan and we watched his television shows all the time, but I never knew that Skelton could also sing and dance.

But the discussion was about The Matrix sequels. A film made by the same directors counts more than the book it's based on (and written by someone else).
There also is a "What are you reading now" thread on LQ, if you're interested.
Despite the pedestrian Hollywood frills of flirting with virtual nudity and lots of adrenaline producing obligatory action gun battles, the underlying vision in Ghost In The Shell I found particularly well done. Maybe this is because I'm lately fascinated by what Elon Musk and others imagine may become a basic survival choice of remaining strictly biological or merging with AI and mechanical bodies. The ancient question regarding a ship who over time has each and every plank replaced asking if it is the same ship and if it isn't, when did it change, applies or may soon apply to we humans as well? This film does a decent job of envisioning such a future even if it does resemble in some ways so many of the "graphic novel" superhero affairs currently in vogue. It begs some really profound questions and made me think for days. It was also stimulatingly fun.
