Can't believe no one has posted this movie here before (I searched the thread with "Search this Thread", and it found nothing). Excellent movie, even watched it again the other night - well worth watching if you get the time.

Pinocchio...yes the Disney one. Alot of moral lessons that are easily overlooked...Don't be a jackass, actors are not to be admired, Dr.'s as charlatans, etc... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEDCcOXkc4o
The last Harry Potter film came and went, and while of course everybody awaited it as the culmination of the series, it probably wasn't the best film of the series...
It became a little quiet around Ms Rowling, and I personally wasn't very interested in her subsequent literary output.
Or films.
I guess that's why I haven't noticed this film until a few days ago: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
I gave it a go, and it was pretty good imo!
Clearly part of the Harry Potter universe, but a very different story.

New York in the 1920s, combined with familiar H.Potter film magic and a very nice main character.

I saw the first Fantastic Beasts and thought it was just OK. A little whimsy for my liking. I really enjoyed the final three Harry Potter films, Deathly Hallows Part 2 being my absolute favorite, because of the grim and dark atmosphere.
I don't know if I've recommended this before but Bohemian Rhapsody. VERY good retelling of Freddie Mercury's life, with the input of the people who knew him.

Rami Malek won the Oscar for this performance. If you liked his acting, I highly recommend Mr. Robot, his breakthrough role that won him an Emmy. The guy is truly talented.
I don't really second your point of view.
Certainly the casting and the atmosphere are great but I've found this movie too much of propaganda, cliché. Maybe this movie is to be taken as a kind of tale?
But anyway, judgment is very subjective

Where did you see the propaganda? I took the movie at face value: a wartime action thriller.

From memory this movie doesn't look so realistic, take the final scene for example...
Plus, it's really black and white without real refinement. NB: I wouldn't call this movie a wartime action thriller but just a war/action movie.
