I've not seen the earlier one to compare but I was fascinated by first of all the vision of what a future city might look with advertising holograms as big as hi-rise buildings but ultimately the somewhat just barely behind the scenes speculation and questions posed by what Kurzweil calls "singularity were well done. It wasn't a great movie, nowhere near as thought provoking and realistic as say "The Arrival" (not the old Charlie Sheen one), but it was well worth my time.

If you have any interest in watching the original Ghost in the Shell, I suggest you do. Don't fret that it's "anime." It's an interesting movie.

I haven't watched it, but the sinopsis on the Wikipedia article reminds me of Animatrix (I highly recommend it, if you haven't watched it yet).

Ah, nice. I remember seeing trailers for The Animatrix and really, really wanting to watch it!

Drama/thriller Parasite seems to be really really promising (8.6/10 on https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6751668)
It's just won the Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival ans is currently being released.
I'll try to watch it at the movie theater...

Watched it a few days ago. Pretty boring, to be honest.

Spent the week in New York, last month, just found this now: Concrete Jungle. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ring-john-dima

https://watch.amazon.com/detail?gti=...are_seas&r=web

It goes in a few directions but overall after two episodes, I'm hooked!

Just rewatched: Alfred Hitchcock's "Notorius (1946)". Outstanding, highly recommend it.

Alfred Hitchcock made so many superb films. I loved his trademark cameo walk bys. :-)
