Linux needs to be more (new) user friendly.

After seeing the new GUI based Linux offerings, I was a bit skeptical. Having once tried Mandrake, I found Linux to be too different compared to Windows and the requirement for a lot of technical knowledge just to do simple tasks was too great.

Well, times have changed and the differences between Linux GUI's and Windows grows smaller. Now, it's quite easy to adjust to using something different but with enough similarities to make life easier.

Hi my name is Jesse and although Ive been a constant on this forum and try to answer questions when I can , Ive never been much of a blogger. However I found this trick to be pretty useful, so here it goes. You can also use the sms portion in may different contexts.
Since this is my first entry , comments and or constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

A short time ago, we bought a new computer for our New Membership Director. Got it at a place that installed Win XP for us, and then I asked the leader of our OMUG GNU/Linux SIG to help me install Ubuntu 8.04 alongside XP. Today will be a day of little productivity as I'm attending a security symposium rather than going to work. Am very curious, though, since this really is part of my work.
