Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

My promise to keep (and then post) an exhaustive record came to naught, mainly because the process was a tissue of error (e.g. kinda boring unless you are interested in items like "the Slackware CD #2 I burned appeared to have corrupted sectors on it" or "the thing boots so damned fast that I have to be ultrafast to get into the BIOS screens before bloody Windows takes over").

Nice to meet you edsolphl and welcome to LQ. To get started, find a permanent link to the manufacturer documentation and list your hardware in your signature like I have. This will help when troubleshooting any problems you have. Please be sure to read the forum rules and respect other members. Thank you for registering with LQ.
Thanks a lot for the advice and I really appreciated welcoming me!
By the way I have a problem, can you help me. How can I set up my computer...
