Thanks Richard,

That's very cool!
I suggest that we get back on topic and discuss donations via Patreon.

I just upped my payment by a few dollars to take the monthly sum into four figures.

Hacker News is where the rubber hits the road if we're looking to promote this seriously

Oh also... I hope PV is planning to implement CD/DVD rewards in a manner similar to the store. It would be nice

I hope that Patrick sets-up a Slackware distribution system that works for him and his family. That may or may not include the distribution of physical media(CDs, DVDs).
I am pleased to support Patrick with his paypal/patreon accounts.

Yes, I'm already contributing and will contribute regardless... Just would be nice to have the media as it was traditionally a thing

Yes. I have donated to Pat’s PayPal account as well. The account is legitimate.

My friend from work who knows I run Slackware mentioned that he heard about the Patreon account. So word is definitely spreading.

I find that sites shoot themselves in the foot by using cloudflare to defend their site against tor users. Note: just becsuse we use tor it does not mean we are hackers - the patreaon site is one good example of this. I also want security and to keep myself secure so why should I have to drop my defences so that you (patreaon) can be secure?

Paypal, dont get me started. I tried in 2015 to donate to slackware using paypal; I had my money returned to myself in the end, but they closed my account, and only returned the money because i got a gov body involved.

More recently I find that an paypal account is linked to my telephone number - but I dont have an account - I contacted quite often over a three week period, they was just full of bare faced lies as explanations. So if I wasnt using paypal anyway and had no account with them, I am certainly not going to use it now - I'm sorry.

Try to set up a proper comemrcial account like somafm have done to take donations - I would be able to donate then.

Both the PayPal (although it is his private one, not originally meant for Slackware) as well as the Patreon account have been confirmed by Pat himself on this site.
I don't have references ready for those, but you can search for it if you need to.
The PayPal msg is in the thread "Donating to Slackware", the Patreon in this same thread (number 46 or so).
