I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it is truly the year of the android. For the last year I have had the one reasonable choice, the glorious G1. Probably, if you were linked here, you had troubles when someone gained root at your system.

The problem I'm writing this post about is kernel/software cracking.

Further to my blog entry the other day about the standard Windows desktop being useless, a way of putting that right occurred to me. Basically, what Windows needs, imho, is an app store! I think it’s the only way Microsoft could provide users with a desktop that is almost instantly usable without running into issues with accusations of abusing their large market share.
