system: HP41 + linux PC (as storage and printer modem)

Start; April 14 2021; the HP41 is on my desk; target: connect this HP41 to my PC 64bit Debian Buster for program storage and program retrieval and printing to a CUPS printer (later on PI raspbian? Arduino?)
Further hardware necessary:
- HP-IL (ordered)
- PIL-Box (requested)
- connectors HP-IL to PIL-Box (ordered via eBay or as 3D print)
Software preparation:
- for connection PIL-Box to PC; will install this later ...

Thunderbird-AT&T email password glitch: a fix for one problem

A few days ago (04/05/21), my AT&T email account, which I access through Thunderbird 78.9.0 (64-bit), stopped downloading emails. Thunderbird showed a message box with the message

"Sending of password for user ****** did not succeed. Mail server responded: Server error - Please try again later."

After many tries with no change in 24 hours, I recalled a vaguely similar situation last November on our iMac...

Krusader file manager has a search functionality with a "locate" backend, rather than Baloo or other stuff

Krusader is a midnight-commander-like QT file manager, more fully-featured/Swiss-army-knife than Dolphin, sort of like the KDE3 Konqueror, but with only a single layout profile, I think, unlike Konqueror, which could be toggled from a Krusader-like GUI to something like Dolphin or simpler, besides a PDF reader or a image viewer like Geeqie. How I miss it.

Anyway, if you want to search something with locate and create dozens of symlinks in a single folder for more careful inspection...

DISCLAIMER: This is not a serious suggestion. It's more of a jeu d'esprit, a philosophical exploration of how some limited degree of dependency checking might be introduced without damaging the essential structure of Slackware. The thing is certainly possible because Salix does it.

At present, the only newbie-friendly way to install Slackware is to do a full install, in which all dependencies are automatically satisfied. This is the recommended way to install and you will get little...
