Welcome back!!

Posted 04-21-2019 at 07:56 PM by schulidr (An open source user evolution)

It has certainly been a while since I have posted to the blog on here or anywhere for that matter. I can't even recall what exactly I had last written about since the last post. Nevertheless, I am writing again to update a little on what has been going on lately in my little Linux world...

As previously stated, since I don't recall what I last wrote about, some of this might be repetitive. I have a feeling most, if not all of this will be new. Anyway, I made a decision to go for...

Ginkgo USB-CAN Part 6

Posted 04-19-2019 at 10:48 PM by Indymaynard

Super exciting!

I now have several codes that have enabled me to play audio from another device via the amplifier in my Jeep! So, Boston Audio premium is not what the interwebs cracks it up to be. It has a left and right input for audio on pins 18, 19, 20, and 21. This is a deceiving label, as the front speakers are also connected to this. The important part of the whole system is the amplifier. This may seem obvious, but I'm also kind of dumb. The amplifier takes care of the fade...

NEWS 190419 ABOUT ExTiX Deepin
I’ve released a new version of ExTiX Deepin today (190419). This ExTiX Build is based on Deepin 15.9.3 (not yet officially released by Deepin Technology).
NEW FUNCTIONS etc:
1. The ISO has decreased from 1860 MB to 1560 MB, which makes it easier to run ExTiX from RAM. Use boot alternative 3 (load to RAM) or Advanced. A wonderful way to run Linux if you have enough RAM. Everything will be super fast. When ExTiX has booted up you can remove the DVD...

Use youtube-dl to bulk download music from weblinks

youtube-dl can download much more than just youtube!

it has options to download video, then extract the audio only, or to download audio audio-only sites (soundcloud, bandcamp etc.)

for a long time i've been using a little script to download music with youtube-dl, straight into my Music folder.

youtube-dl can extract a lot of info from the download, add tags to the file, and generate a suitable download path and filename for one or multiple files....
