How Hard Is It To Post In The Right Forum?

Posted 12-28-2005 at 04:46 PM by XavierP

This has long been a question in my head. I find LQ very easy to navigate. The forums and sub-forums are clearly named and laid out and it's not hard to find my way around. And it's been the same ever since I first registered.

So why are we still seeing threads in the wrong places? Read the forums descriptions and post in the appropriate place. It's not rocket surgery!

Happy holidays to all.

I've recently switched to xfce (still having trouble with kde) and started using aterm.
After playing around for some time, I came up with this, try it, it doesen't look too bad :)

aterm -tr -trsb -sh 87 -font -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--18-120-100-100-c-90-iso8859-1 -fg yellow -vb

PHP Make PDF Doc

Posted 12-27-2005 at 09:46 PM by quantumsized

Has anyone tried to make a PHP web interface to make a pdf from a link to a website, or from a file on there computer (such as a .doc, .pub or such) into PDF format and download as soon as it is done. I figure there has to be a good way. I know that Writer can export to PDF. But I would be more interested in making a web interface.

Randomness- I'm a Senior Member!

Posted 12-27-2005 at 12:00 AM by microsoft/linux

I just noticed that I have gained the desgination of "Senior Member", I guess that happened 3 posts ago.

   1. older
from Wiktionary

Huh...senior implies older, more mature. I'm 17, perhaps a bug in the system?(Jeremy, you may find a bug report for this)

That bums me out...someone(jeremy) thinks I'm old!

Anyway, how long 'till I change designation, Guru here I come!

All Those Lovely "Easy Questions"

Posted 12-26-2005 at 06:11 PM by XavierP

I'd like to publicly say "stop doing this". It's very very annoying.

I see on LQ numerous threads like this: "compiling a kernel - easy question", "simple question about installing xine" and similar threads.

If it's so easy or simple to do these things, why on earth would you need to post a thread about it? Just go and do it.

We are not flattered because you think it will be easy for us to answer your question, nor will...
