After greedily eyeing ThinkPads for a time (I get a decent discount on some models at work), I veered off in a different direction, did some more research and bought myself one o' those netbook thangs.

It is very cute. It's an Asus 1000HE. Asus has ceased to ship these things with Linux, so this has the mephitic Windows XP on it. No! The lousy! It burns!

In the coming months...

Over the next couple of months, I will be making a small but potent website based around my knowledge of the Slackware operating system. It will pose as a reference for myself and hopefully be able to answer questions for those in need. I have a few scripts, and a couple how-tos that are works in progress so just keep your eyes open for this one, should be a good reference for Slackware and linux users alike.

I would like to post a wish list.

Simpe internet only linux distro.
Who needs any non-internet-enable app anyway. I would like to find a simple distro that only comes with a fully capable modern fully integrated internet browser, I don't a somewhat disabled internet browser, because of missing stuff, like flash, media player, gcc or some lib to interpret or compile it. Linux and Microsoft Windows Future

I work with both Linux and Windows XP. The latter software, in a Microsoft software based organization.

On the Linux based forum web sites that I visit, the subscribers cheer every time a Linux system displaces a major Microsoft one. The converse is true in the Microsoft camps, because of the argument “How can you make money with free software?”

In the minds of these Linux forum subscribers, Microsoft is the enemy. Then we read about Microsoft’s reactions. Microsoft...

Avant Window Navigator

I'm going to try to make my Dell Mini's desktop look more like the OS X desktop. I'd rather not install OS X to do this...

I've installed Avant Window Navigator, and it is running but there is also already a taskbar on the bottom of Ubuntu's Gnome. I'd kill it but I don't know if I can get it back later. I'd also like to add more widgets to it (for every widget showing on my Ubuntu install, I'd like a comparable and functional AWN widget).
