Sorry, I think I meant the toolbar when I said the slit.

I could not find any option to disable or hide it to get tint2 to run in its place..

Is recompiling fluxbox with the toolbar disabled the only option?

When I right click on my toolbar, I can select / deslect "visible". Its also available from the rootMenu from Fluxbox Menu -> Configure -> Toolbar

Hmm, I got that working OK.

However, hiding the toolbar and running tint2 gives an error that another systray is already running.

Is the only way to solve this to recompile flux without the toolbar?

Try setting toolbar>icon mode>noicons
