transparent menus in fluxbox

i just installed the devel version of fluxbox (fluxbox -v Fluxbox 1.0rc2) and i cant get the menus to be transparent. i have menu alpha set to 160 in the menu and the style config, and render is set in fluxbox, and the background is set with fbsetbg. ive basically followed everything on fluxbox.org, but still nothing. any suggestions ?

are you restarting x after you make the adjustment? when i set my transparencies in init, i have to restart before they take effect...

yes, ive restarted several times already. i started out just restarting X, but after i couldnt figure out why it wasnt working i just restarted the whole pc.

thanks for the suggestion tho - anything else im missing ?
