You need to be using Fluxbox devel 0.9.2 or higher and have libXrender.

You can set the alpha amount through the menu, "fluxbox menu: configure: menu alpha". Right-click increases, left-click decreases.

Another way is to modify ~/.fluxbox/init. Change the "menuAlpha" line.
