Question Transparent background for fluxbox

Hi,

I'm working on a HP Pavilion N3250 with Slackware 9.1 installed and Fluxbox .9.6.1. Before on other setups I've always used fbsetbg with Esetroot to set my background and get nice transparent menus. But when I do it with this laptop I get an Illegal Operation message. So next I tried feh and got the same illegal operation error. So I tried bsetbg and that works fine, but I can't use transparent menus So hopefully someone out there can help me out. I've gone through my logs (really don't know what logs to look through) and didn't see anything. Thanks again.
