Problem with Berkeley instalation

Hi, I am trying to install Berkeley db-4.2.52.NC, but i get the folloing error message after the configure command

linux:/opt/db-4.2.52.NC # ./dist/configure
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu

checking if building in the top-level or dist directories... yes
configure: error: Berkeley DB should not be built in the top-level or dist directories.

I would apreciate anyhelp

cd /opt/db-4.2.52.NC/build_unix
./configure

Go to the build_unix directory and type in the following command:

../dist/configure

This should work properly. Also if you want to do some C++ development on the Berkeley DB, include the --enable-cxx flag with the above command:

../dist/configure --enable-cxx
