berkeley problem


When i install berkeley db i am getting this error after i type "make"

ln: creating symbolic link `libdb.a' to `.libs/libdb-4.2.a': Operation not permitted
make: *** [libdb.a] Error 1


please help me out

Are you running make as root ?
