Angry Annoying top half terminal window in ubuntu

Lately, my ubuntu Mate (16.04) is infested by an annoying terminal window virus, opening on every workspace, occupying half of the screen.
It's impossible to close, how do I get rid of it, and who is the stupid idiot that wrote this virus?

How do you know it's a virus? Have you tried a virus scan?

It might help persons visualize this if you were to post a screenshot.

Alt+F4 closes
Alt+Spacebar then M allows you to move the window back onto the desktop.
Try down arrow until the whole terminal is visible.

Not sure it's a virus.

it is not a virus LINUX virus humm
right click on the title window look to see if it has a sticky, or a on all windows, selected or go into preferences of that terminal and see if it has something close to telling it to keep it on all windows.

somewhere within your system it is telling the terminal to follow you are around (and spy on you, the NRA might be involved)

Angry

I found the culprit, it's tilda, a terminal on all workspaces. I have no clue how it got installed, I certainly have not installed it.
The "feature" of having a windowless terminal on all workspaces seems to be default turned on in the settings for this annoying application.

Removing it with aptitude does not remove any other packages, and I have deactivated installation of recommended/suggested in aptitude, so how the heck did it get installed?

There should be a law against programs with such annoying defaults.
