iMac disappoints too, ya know.

So, this 2017 iMac. Nice computer. I went "retail" (meaning w\out upgrades) for the express intention of getting the "user's perspective" since I know my brain goes from A to Z in about 1s, I find my tolerance for slow computers is an issue for me. I thought this would be helpful for my work. So I bought this rig as is from BestBuy, off the shelf and took it home. What I have found out to be true for Intel and the Linux world is still true for the Mac World as well.

Today, I was using Mac Mail and I went to turn in my Timecard, so as "usual" I hit search in Mail.
I wanted to "see" what email for my timecard I turned in last week, but all Mail searches returned empty sets, in Mail and Spotlight.

I see the email, I search for it, and it says it's "not found", based on the search. I see it. I can touch it, copy/edit/forward if I want, just couldn't search for it.

And all my "smart mailboxes"...

After the install, you issue

The iMac is really working out great!
That App Store is like a Fast-food checkout.
Financial charges for "apps'. Some good, some shiite.
Sticking to the basics, working on automation via dictation.
The Sole Document I carried over from Linux? Timecard, which I remastered using Numbers.
Not that difficult.

I managed to get Siri to take dictation, so here'a my movie list that she typed.
Christmas, Im getting more RAM. 8 Gigs is OK for...
