Fluxbox on IBM r40

So I am running slackware 10.2 with a 2.6.13 kernel and noticed that I do not get any sound through my speakers, but having previously ran KDE with the dame distro and kernel I know it is possible to have sound. I get no error message and alsa has had all volumes turned ona dn turned up. And no... XMMS is not muted or had volume turned down

Thanks, Eric

Check the mixer settings and make sure your user is in the audio group.
