Redhat9 and IBM R40

I have installed Redhat Linux 9.0 on IBM R40(Pentium 4-M 2.2
256MB RAM).There are no troubles during the install process.
But It often crash when I use KDE or GNOME.When this happened, I have to restart the computer.

Useful information to post in order to help people troubleshoot your issue are:
1) relevant /var/log/messages entries
2) contents of your ~/.xsession-errors file

Be more specific about what you mean by crash. Does the system completely lockup, reboot, or does the KDE/Gnome session just halt. What error messages are displayed?

Good luck
