Acer Aspire 5732 Z, newer distobutions and Display post POST

I have an Acer Aspire 5732 Z.
I did a lshw -C display and received..
VGA compatible controller
Product: Mobile 4 series
vendor: Intel Corp
physical ID: 2
bus inof: pci@0000:00:02.0
version:09
width: 64bits
clock: 33MHz
capabilities: msi pm bus_master cap_list rom
resources: irq: 29 memory"d0000000-d03fffff memory:c0000000-0fffffff(prefetachable) ioport:50f0(size=8)

My issue is that when I look at a newer distrobution my display dims after POST that I can strain to see there is an image, however, I cannot make anything out. I have to attach a monitor to the laptop to see anything. The function key and Bright buttons do not affect the display at all.

Any asstance is greatly appreciated as I have heard no responce form other forums with this question.

Thank you
Cameron

This is a known bug in your BIOS that also affects other Acer laptop. AFAIK Acer didn't bother to fix it, yet. Have a look in this thread for a workaround: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...htmare-935269/
