I cannot hear the sound. I know for sure that sound is available on this lab computer because I fiddled with sound control and heard the volume adjust ding noise. Most of the time, the videos come out of nowhere on a website and start making loud noise.
Before I even knew there were alternatives to Windows I sympathized with the General's tone of frustration. Now that I know how much Windows sucks this scene just warms the cockles of my heart.
You know, I've heard even regular windows users get frustrated. But you should have heard my step-mother when she went from *nix to Windows (after a hard drive crash my father just put a new disk in and gave her windows so he didn't need to call me). Within 16 hours I knew about it and was already tired of her complaining. Within 72, I was driving over to replace windows with her old system after half a dozen messages begging me to make it stop and one from my father saying I'd better come because she wouldn't even use the computer until I fixed it.
I can't post her messages to me (my step-mom loves profanity) but you should never have to be exposed to that much frustration. It did make me think long and hard about just how "user-friendly" windows really is though.
hi, i am doing a research in my campus for one of my lecturer. the topic i choose is about controversional ( in fact, it's always controversional ). it is said that : UNIX is BETTER than WINDOWS. I already have a lot of paper about it, but then i need my final material, which is a poll. So i decide to bring it here. so, what's your opinion?
thanks for your kindness no help me finish this research
i'm sorry Nylex. i already have the articles about both unix and windows, but i still need to know the feedback from the other peoples. is it really illegal if i post the poll here? and if it's illegal, where should i move and delete this thread?thank you before.
Threads like this belong in General, not Linux - General. Do not go and repost this there, just wait for a mod to move this one (it has been reported already).
If only there could be a thread for opinions and comments on which is best, Linux or Windows, that threads like this could join so that their voice could be added to the rest.
Some sort of Megathread maybe. That'd be cool, wouldn't it?
