No this is not another thread about the new logo...
I just noticed that Michael Moore's new movie is called Slacker Uprising. It is debuting sept 23 and appropriately will be available for free download from slackeruprising.com
Supposedly it is the first major full-length cinema film which is available for free at the same time it is released.
I hope this doesn't mean the loss of any Slackware Republicans...
The free download is only available to those residing in the United States and Canada. In order to receive the free download on September 23rd, you must confirm that you are a resident of the United States or Canada.
"Only available in the US...." What the hell is that all about? When will Publishers get it into their heads that the Internet is GLOBAL!
Mind you, as its just another Michael Moore diatribe, its probably no great loss.
Not abandoned, my Thinkpad suddenly decided that it didn't want to play nicely - the network card died on me, I think. Because I wanted to get up and running in a hurry I stuck Debian on a spare Dell I had.
When I get a bit more time, I'll reinstall Slackware.

I respect Moore very much. But I disagree with him on too many points. Though, I'm not a Rep either, count me as a Slacker Libertarian.
Republican Slackware users? I've never heard of such a thing. I could have sworn that you had to take some sort of oath to never vote or consider yourself Republican if you use Slackware.
Depends on what kind of Republican. We had republicans in England who executed a king 360 years ago. That's my kind of republican. . Really I'm sort of a socialist/anarchist, don't know about any other Slackers political sympathies.

It's probably already uploaded to bittorrent or other p2p networks. So you can still get it if you'll search hard enough. Or you could try and find fast and free proxy located in US (good luck with this one).
