I've been reading a bit on what's going on in Paris and I wanted to express my condolences and best wishes to our French members. I wrote to the French embassy here in the United States and explained to them that my prayer for them, in part, was that God would comfort them and the French nation and people and provide provision for whatever is needed. That prayer extends to you as well.
This has been a very tragic and horrific affair, to say the least, and I hope everyone here is safe and sound.
My hope (and request) is that if there any responses, that this thread would not turn into an angry flame war.
I can't help though but comment how disgusted I am, but then again these are sub-human animals that did this. I just hope that it does not go the other way, and now innocent Muslims and other migrants will then be caught up in some kind of 'retaliation', since thats probably what also these criminals were aiming for. I'll just leave it at that (just venting).
It couldn't work. According to some news the terrorists avoided all electronic communications.
Exactly! This is why the NSA program is not effective today in the war of terrorism because these terrorists know all electronic communications are monitored.
What the US need are more and more informants and/or undercover spies to gathered the intelligence.
I believe what we need is a world that doesn't create the conditions for that to happen.
A such rough world can't avoid to let (some of) our kids become monsters.
"Le vieux monde se meurt, le nouveau tarde à apparaître et dans ce clair-obscur surgissent les monstres." or "The old world is dying away, and the new world struggles to come forth: now is the time of monsters." Antonio Gramsci
Paris has a motto :
Fluctuat nec mergitur
Wich means : Float but does not sink.
We are still there and will not let them intimidate us.
Pope Francis, who seems to be a shrewd and astute man although he is unassuming, described it as "a piecemeal World War III." I think he's on to something . . .
