Thanks for the clarification on my being. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing I finally fit into a realm of being. Thanks for the clarification.
Have a nice day, move on and take care. It is the very elitist people such as yourself that give Linux a bad name.
I uninstall Windows from a machine and use a key I Paid for with the purchase of the machine to run a single copy in a virtual machine and this is piracy? I think you have a legal understanding issue here.
.
Basically, you can use in a VM on the licensed machine (instead of a 'real' installation ),
Your copy is licensed to another machine, not the one your vm is running on.
Please remember, you agreed to that.
You need to purchase a new windows 7 license if you wish to carry on using it.
I'm not getting what "volumes" you're reading into it. Or how it could be construed as a defense of this thread's OP, who's being "bashed" because he posted prematurely and then realized he was unable to support what he wrote. And that's taking him at face value.
Shallow? *shrug*. Set the example if you feel that way.

Therefore, I will be running Slackware as a VirtualBox guest on top of Windows for the next little while. That will get me the entertainment I want from Windows and the productivity I want from Linux.
I might switch to a dual-boot setup some time down the road.
Then in the second thread the indication is you don't really know what games are available in Linux so you had to ask what games you must play.
You complained about games availability, you haven't kept up to date with what's currently available in Linux, and now you are picking at the OP of this thread.
I'll answer the edited part of your post now.

Is this a question or a statement?

I'm not a gamer, I never bashed the OP for stating his opinion, likewise I never bashed you for moving to Windows just so you could play games. I did ask a question in your thread and others answered it.

Reason: Answer the edit.

I did, I will so again at other times in the future. What do you think that has to do with the OP's behavior or with anyone's response to it?

LOL no. I think you misunderstood, and I also think you did so deliberately.

What makes you think the OP has behaved badly?

No I took you at "face value".
If Windows users are having a whinge then so be it, let them. If the OP doesn't want to answer your questions about alpha release games then so be it, I'm sure the name calling isn't required.
It is a rant targeted at an audience who do not frequent this forum, namely 'Windows whiners"
So I hit a sore spot talking about an OS on an OS forum? Even praising my own (which happens to be the forums point) OS?

It has little in the way of context, as the specific title can not be discussed.
It has nothing to do with this. Instead of treating this as every other post on this site, you see I have 13 posts (which is not a way discredits myself) and decide as a couple of people to form a group and attack me because of a merit you all the sudden create. This is fine. I am great at exercising maturity and this has all the sudden become Comedy Central to me.

LinBox2013 also seems to be confused with respect to the legality of their Windows 7 virtual machine.
The machine is now gone. POOF! Magic!

The only 'bashing' to "windows whiners", who are not here to defend themselves.
So now LQ has instead of being a place to help Linux users has become a play to defend Windows users. Great stance! Why don't you cross the fence into the Windows world and leave us good ole Linux USERS alone? No one needs defense here. There are whiners in every part of our society. Are you and your group of vocal gang rapers gonna fight the cause for every group in society? Let's not discriminate here. Because I am sure there are many posts on this very forum about football, fast food places, car makers, retail stores, political figures and the list goes on. You had better get to work.
Okay, LinBox2013. Let's talk about why your thread was not as well received as it should have been.
You started it with good intentions: to talk about your experiences and to advocate for what we can do to make Linux an even better games platform than Windows is now. That's good.
In your first post, you focused on what you have observed as the reactions of Windows users that you have interacted with. You did not mention that you observed these reactions in the context of alpha testing several games. As your observations weren't consistent with anyone else' experience, the predictable response was "interesting... which game communities are are these." Not doubting you' just asking which games they were. At first, you simply ignored the queries, which is extremely rude. When you revealed later that you couldn't say, of course the reaction was an exasperated "well, why did you start a thread about something you can't talk about?"

No, just sick and tired of seeing people attacked for no apparent reason. It didn't start at post 15, as you say in a post above, it started in post 7.

A software pirate without even knowing how he obtained the copy of Windows you have labelled him. We find out later but you judged without knowing.
