For those who haven't seen it, (yes, this is on-topic) the movie "A Beautiful Mind" is an excellent, fascinating movie. Well worth renting or owning.
It's (based on) a true story, and stars Russell Crowe, who plays the role of Nobel Prize winning mathematician John Nash.
Rated "5 thumbs up" by Sasha & Sasha.
PS - OK, well I kinda thought it was 'on-topic enough' but maybe you're right Jiml8 (next post) -- thanks for your feedback -- I did mention this in the "recommend a good movie" thread after having posted it here.
Imma apply for a move of posts 30 & 31 over to the movie thread.

I liked that movie as well and read the book. Is Opensource an implementation of John Nash's theory. Think of the discussion about his ideas contrasting with Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations. It seems to describe the differences between development at MS and Open Source.
Exit Speed Running Scared (2006) (see this movie to the ending credits or it won't make sense. Also, this movie is not for the squeamish or easily disturbed, but is an awesome movie)
Ooh, I remembered another excellent one: Silent Running (1972). The robots are awesome and I do recall shedding a tear at the end. Fun fact, this film is a couple of months older than I am!
Another really good movie I saw circa 1994/95 or so: "Strange Days" with among others, Ray Liotta.
I guess it'd fall into the 'Cyberpunk' genre, for lack of better definition at the moment.
