how to install mplayer for fedora core 3 ?

cuz apt-cache search mplayer gives nothing

Fedora Core 3? That was my first distro 3 years ago. It's no longer supported, though I remember compiling mplayer for it from source fairly easily.

Otherwise, if you can find yourself a maintained yum repository, you might be able to install it with yum (Red Hat's apt-get equivalent):

yum install mplayer

Or something like that.

http://www.gagme.com/greg/linux/fc3-tips.php#mplayer should be of help. For other versions of Fedora, change the number "3" for the number of your Fedora.

I fount that it is FC8 and not FC3

how to do then ?
