mplayer problems on fedora core 1

Hi

I installed mplayer using apt from the freshrpms.net apt repo, but am having problems with it.
when i play quicktime files it plays the video but gives me an error saying it cannot find the right audio codec. if i try to play a .wmv file its the opposite, where i get audio but no picture. DVD's dont play either neither sound nor picture.

has anyone had this problem using the freshrpm repo for mplayer on fedora core 1.

thanks

also if you know of another place (other than source) where i can get a pre built rpm that works right on fedora core 1 , would appreciate it.

thanks.

Sure! Just go to www.mplayerhq.hu .
There you can find a RPM package and some additional codec packs for QuickTime, RealPlayer,..

As an alternate, why dont you try using XINE ??

http://xinehq.de/index.php/

It plays VCD, CD, DVD, and also multimedia files like mp3, avi, mov, wmv.....

I use it and its really good !!
