Newbie VNC: WinXP(sp2!) host to antiX-16core [non-GUI] *or Mint17.3 OR...* Vbox guest

Got it working! Basically. desktop finally came up (slow Vbox!)
(EASY per littlebytesofpi; Mint needed: ufw allow 5901)
http://....:5901 says doc contains no data. WHY?? ssh tunnel to it? What's 6001?

[earlier] Total mess, yes.
PRE-question: I'm not sure how to start! I've read "How to Ask a Question", BUT all I can think of to ask/postNewThread in Newbie is:
How to begin/learn/do VNC? (any 'small' Linux Vbox guest; XP host)

qt support for VNC

i want to test whether qt is supporting VNC or not. For that i have written a small layout program using Qt library.
