HP Omnibook 550 USB Wireless

Hi,

I need some help to configure wireless LAN (built in USB) on a omnibook 550. So far without success. So I wondered if there is somebody outhere that could give me some information.

So far I assume that following steps is necessary:

1) The correct driver. (PRISM 802.11b Wireless LAN USB driver - HP Omnibook 550?)? C-code(source code) or exe code?
2) How do I include the new driver into the kernel? I assume I must build a new kernel, then I...

OK. So that's not going to happen, right? I think it should. Those who (are forced to) pay to use Mockerysofts products should have a vote in what should happen next instead of letting the marketoids reign.

Randomness - iPod 30GB(5g) and linux

Ok, so I got a 30 GB iPod for christmas, and I have some decent sucess with linux. Below is how I've gotten it working with debian etch.

This guy apparently is a debian developer, and has made a patch for gtkpod to allow transfer of video. This is extremely useful. I use handbrake for video conversion.

First, I made a new directory to mount it on

# mkdir /mnt/ipod
I then added this to my fstab

/dev/sda2       /mnt/ipod
...

ftp does not open from opera and morzilla

i am using fedora core 3 and vsftpd. ftp does not open from other computer i.e it is in LAN. from some computer ftp open from internet explorer. when it try to open ftp from morzilla it give "425 failed to established connection". in computer where i install it, it work perfectly, can any one say how can i solve this problem. after giving "425 failed.." if i click ok then it show index file which does not contain pub directory and other file which i kept in my ftp.
