HP Omnibook 550 USB Wireless

Posted 01-11-2006 at 03:40 AM by geirh

I need some help to configure wireless LAN (built in USB) on a omnibook 550. So far without success. So I wondered if there is somebody outhere that could give me some information.

So far I assume that following steps is necessary:

1) The correct driver. (PRISM 802.11b Wireless LAN USB driver - HP Omnibook 550?)? C-code(source code) or exe code?
2) How do I include the new driver into the kernel? I assume I must build a new kernel, then I need the source for for the kernel + c compiler.

I would appreciate some input. I have tried to search the forum, without success? So If some of you have done it before, please tell me
