Cancel automatic login in systemd

I have been running Arch with automatic login of my user-name.
Seeking to stop that and get a login prompt instead, I did
Code:
	systemctl disable getty@tty1.service
Removed symlink /etc/systemd/system/getty.target.wants/getty@tty1.service.
	systemctl stop getty@tty1.service
and removed the directory /etc/systemd/system/getty@tty1service.d and its contents.

Now when I boot the system it hangs after issuing the message
Quote:
[ OK ] Reached target Graphical User Interface
At which point I switch to tty2 and login there

How can I get tty1 to give me a login prompt like it has on the other ttys?

I have now also done
Code:
systemctl set-default -f multi-user.target
the only effect of this is that now the system hangs one line earlier at
Quote:
[ OK ] Reached target Multi-User System

Since you disabled it and removed the symlink you may not be able to. Might have to re-enable it.
I think this is the cmd you would use but double check, I'm not running Arch.
Code:
sudo systemctl enable getty@tty1.service
The configuration file for tty is in
/lib/systemd/system/getty\@.service

You can use GDM and create a log in.

I think tty's are managed in /etc/inittab maybe look there for clues.
