Automatic login

In Fedora 5 (Control center - user authentication), I've choice the automatic login option.
However, I always get login screen and must enter username / password to start Gnome or KDE.
What's wrong ?

if you want the automatic login for kde then you need to switch the login manager from gdm to kdm.

Add to following line to your /etc/sysconfig/desktop file:
DISPLAYMANAGER=”KDM”

now when you login to kde use control center -> system admin -> login manager convince to select the user you want to auto login.

no idea about gnome sorry!

Gnome is basically the same, you have to set up the user you want to auto-login from the "Actions" menu of gdm
