Booting up with Linux Secure and a blank screen

I noticed that alot of people have been having a problem with linux secure in Mandrak 9.2 and how it doesn't boot up but rather just gives you a blank screen. And if you choose Linux over seucre it then boots to x-windows. What is the differance between linux secure and linux and is it that big of a deal just to run linux from a laymans point. Or is running linux secure a better option? If so...does anyone know what needs to be done to get linux secure to boot up properly. Seems to be an on going problem.
Any help would be appreiciated.
