Blank screen after booting from hard-disk on suse 10

I installed SUSE-10.0 using 5 CD-iso's. At the end of install a click on finish took me into the KDE desktop. I restarted my computer and at the end of booting from hard disk all I see is a blank screen, just blank screen, nothing happens. I can boot into fail-safe mode, but with out a desktop my install is of not much use.

Here is my hardware info:

Monitor : Dell 2005 FPW (1680 x 1050)
Graphics card: ATI RS300 5834
Pentium III - 2.4
512MB memory
Motherboard: ASUS P4R 800 VM

Thanks for your help in advance.

Try running "sax2" from the command line.

blank screen

Are you sure you choose an install option?
You should choose "desktop PC" if you want a graphic system.

problem fixed..

Thanks for your pointer. I was able to startx in failsafe mode and was able to fix and install several things. Got my ethernet iface up & running too. Fixed my booting/current problem too. This is what I had to do for my hardware configuration:

1. I have a wide aspect panel monitor that offers resolution of 1680x1050 and was not supported by my graphics card (ATI RADEON 9100 IGP, built into ASUS P4R 800 VM motherboard). I think the linux drivers need to be updated inorder to get a resolution above the standard.
2. Went to the ATI site and under linux downloads found a installer for x86. Downloaded the installer which will auto update the xorg.conf and requires to run a config at the end.
3.I restarted my machine and to my suprise, the suse booted out from hard-disk this time with no probs.

.. Hope this helps someone who has the same prob.

DELL 2005FPW, ASUS P4R 800VM, ATI RADEON 9100 IGP, INTEL P4, KINGSTON 512MB.
