About Linux Graphics Users.com

Linux Graphics Users.com is a forum created by artists, for artists in the Linux community. It is true, that most of the Linux graphics software listed on our site has their own forums (some more than one).... But, LGU is much more than just about the software, or the distro.... It's about the people. People like you and me who just wanna talk about art & design, and share advice, tips & tricks, tutorials to help others, etc. without having to talk about which distro they use... or this one is better than that one. There are more than enough of those places on the web for that... this is about art, and people who are interested in art, and anything related to it from basic wallpapers.... to designing / creating entire window decorator themes, icons, bootsplashes, photography, printing, etc.
We will also be including discussions on Linux in the world of art & entertainment, as well as in-depth discussions about Linux Graphics Software / Applications

Linux Graphics Users.com, is a young community. We opened our doors on December 8, 2007 hosted by http://www.smffree.com/free-forum.php and were off to a great start. But, over time we realized we would need more control over the forum, on the backend to build our community around our members to give them the most pleasant experience we could.
This brought us to the decision to sign on with http://www.lunarpages.com as our new host, and then went to http://www.simplemachines.org for their wonderful forum software. Our search for a new host took a bit longer than intended but, we wanted to be sure we were getting the best we could.

We are still under construction in a few areas, but we are getting closer to our goal each day. And we strongly encourage our members to make suggestions and express their ideas & thoughts on every level... and we strive to please as many as we can, without compromising our original idea. We are still considering whether to incorporate a http://coppermine-gallery.net gallery or not, or something similar, but the topic will be discussed more within the community when the time is right.

If you are have any interest in art / design on the Linux platform.... then Linux Graphics Users.com is the place for you.

We look forward to seeing you there http://linuxgraphicsusers.com

So come on by, register and introduce yourself, and have fun.
