ATI graphics driver not working when switching between users

Hi,

A bit of history:
I've setup a new user using the GUI in F7 (System -> Admin -> Users and Groups) so that others can log on when my screen locks. I've also installed my ATI drivers and Beryl using the instructions found here.

Problem and Symptoms:
When I tried to switch user to test things out, set up background, etc. I noticed that the graphics driver isn't working in the other account. So I tried to restart X. That didn't help. I restarted the computer and this is where it got weird. I've noticed that whichever account I sign into first is the one that works properly. Whenever I try to switch after that, the other account has crappy graphics (i.e. very slow at loading desktop, menus, etc.). Also, when I switch back to the account that was working, my applets don't load.

Help!
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks Yoron, but the issue isn't installing the drivers, that seems to have worked. My desktop cube runs smoothly, fglrxinfo returns things about "ATI technologies" and not "Mesa", glxgears gives frame rates of 8550fps...

It's just this weird situation where switching users screws things up...

Awh, maybe it (Beryl) don't allow several instances of the program?? Or allows it 'badly'?

Perhaps you are right. I do know that you can set Beryl to work on multiple monitors at the same time, though I've never seen it done. You may still be right about Beryl being the source of the problem though. I'll check the project's FAQ and see if there's anything there.

In the meantime, if anyone has any other thoughts, please share!

Thanks!
