I have an Open Suse system and noticed that my updater stopped working. When I try to run it manually in the terminal I get a lot of information saying I need to upload a whole heap of stuff but not sure if it is OK for me to do that. Please see the screeshotos attached.
Could someone please help me to get my system get updates again/diagnose and fix the issue?
You should use init 3 to change to runlevel 3.
Then on console: zypper dup.
The screenshots are OK, since I have executed the upgrade before. (Similar screenshots)
Manythanksfor reply :-). Could you please reply why I should do init 3 and zypper dup ? What if I just followed with what in the screenshots? The only reason I didn't go ahead was because there are a lot of upgrades at once and it seemed a bit strange. Also, as you may have seen I have a couple of duplicates/obsolete repo links. Is this going to be fixed after the update?
Sorry for the questions but I just would like to know why I am doing things.
1. The repos in /etc/zypper/repos.d must be changed to Opensuse Leap 42.3.
2. Init 3 sets the system to runlevel 3 - without graphics desktop - which is upgraded completly.
3. zypper dup upgrades the system respecting the repos. It is similar to dist-upgrade of Ubuntu.
