all i can say is that this is the WORST upgrade of an OS i have ever done. I work on AIX and other Linux and nothing like this has ever happened to me in the past. So many people with same or similar problems. I gotta wonder did they test the code before telling people it was ready to be upgraded.
ok so new day... If anyone can look at my xsession log and help me that would be great.
Also i do remember seeing a message about something like 30 filesets were not supported and would not be upgraded to use some sort of 3 party download site. I wonder if that could be affecting this.
yes i tried those suggestions. Thats why I posted the log. I have one user account that I cannot login with and just get a white screen. i lost all my original setting and everything in email my virtuabox system etc.
i moved my /home/usr to an backup location and recreated a blank home dir and was able to login again...
I need ot know how I can get my old stuff back. this is totally insane...
You can put the files back to the new users home directory.
as root
OK I had some permission problem son the dir and got rid of the errors But I still have the xsession errors. I dont get logged in with the ID. White screen only.
Actualy I read this about the .ICEauthority error...
