man page keyboard shortcuts

Posted 02-24-2013 at 08:30 AM by sag47

Here's a short list of keyboard shortcuts for reading man pages that I've learned by usage. I've not found a good place shortcuts are documented; man page or otherwise.

Code:
man bash
Use SHIFT+G to scroll to bottom of the page and look at FILES. You'll also learn more about how bash loads the bashrc if you read the INVOCATION section of the bash man page.

Helpful shortcuts for man pages...
  • k and j go up and down one line.
  • Ctrl+u and Ctrl+d go up and down half
...

Fun day.

Acquired the otg cable from Frys. Under ten dollars. Had to go through 4 people and a manager to finally get it. Real bummer. Feel like I was fried. Like the place but some of the people need to learn the words I do not know, but I will get someone who can. Cable ended up beingin the first department to begin with. Learn your merchandise Fry clerks. Went back today and got a backup cable in case they disappear again.

Had to make some ethernet cables. Always try to keep plenty of extra...

Finally have an otg cable for the Nexus 7. Time for some productivity.

Using the Nexus 7 as a monitor for the Raspberry Pi.

Want to take a linux distribution for the handicapped and see if I can install it without a monitor.

Definition of Insanity

Posted 02-20-2013 at 05:09 PM by flshope

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, what do you call doing the same thing over and over and GETTING a different result? A computer operating system! Linux, Windows, ..., whatever.
