Two handy manual pages from the LPM

One of the downsides to living in the age of the search engine is that many of us do not know how to find documentation in the place it is supposed to be. Sometimes, we waste much time and bandwidth trying to find information that is available locally. Two such examples from my own experience are listed below:

1) OPERATOR(7). I can't count the number of times I have done a Google search trying to remember if a '&&' had higher precedence than a '||', or some similar question....

Virtualbox comparison.

Posted 02-24-2012 at 09:01 AM by rich_c

I've been messing with Virtualbox a bit lately. I just thought I'd share my observations.

Windows Vista Business guest. - Took hours to install and many, many hours to apply all the updates! Tends to slow the host machine (Dell Optiplex 740, 4GB RAM, Mepis 11 64 bit.) to a crawl. Runs OK in itself...

Ubuntu 10.04 guest. - Installed and updated in 2 hours tops. Runs great and doesn't seem to impact the host machine's performance very much at all!

This was an older version of libLQ and the old makefile-creator. Both of these have been extensively reworked and expanded.

Updated 04-09-2012 at 05:30 AM by rainbowsally (Better version available, same principles)

Note: this post was pretty obsolete and kind of complicated.

Here's a link to the newer makefile creator and libLQ that also has the slist (class inheritance in C) stuff.

Another user from a different forum asked me a question. I gave, what I though was, a good answer so I'm posting it here for all LQ to enjoy.

But what would I use to comb through
