MySQL Cluster setup

Posted 05-03-2011 at 11:46 PM by EricTRA

Hi,

Recently I had to set up MySQL Cluster for testing purposes on RHEL 5.5 virtual machines. Below is the procedure I followed and am sharing as a first blog post with you. This of course is a guide, put together piece by piece with stuff found on the internet and solutions for bugs/problems I encountered during installation. The result is a working MySQL Cluster.

Since MySQL Cluster uses its own binaries for the job you need to have servers with no previous MySQL...

Rest from linux activity

Posted 05-03-2011 at 07:39 PM by megasaputra

When someone has a family, he has to divide time fairly. So that, no one feels to lose. Yesterday, I had to spend my time for my daughter. She got sick in her right ear. I broght her to the hospital. The doctor said, it was swollen. Then I was given medicine. I asked for permission to not go to work.
I have ever written in this blog that based on distrowatch.com, ubuntu is the most popular in 6 month later. It's wrong. I am sorry. I mean, ubuntu is the most pupular in the last 6 month.

Don't worry, I haven't died...

I noticed that my last blog post here was on the 26th of January -- over 3 months ago. Unfortunately, my life has been quite busy lately, and is likely to remain so for the next month or so whilst I get my Higher exams out the way. But after the final exam (which, incidentally, is computing on 3rd of June), I'll have just 3 weeks before my summer holidays. No idea what I'll be doing over summer, but I'll aim to get a couple of posts up per week whatever I'm doing.

Until then, however,...

Posted 05-03-2011 at 12:08 PM by sridhar11

In around 15 minutes, the time it takes to install Ubuntu Server Edition, you can have a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server up and ready to go. This feature, exclusive to Ubuntu Server Edition, is available at the time of installation. The LAMP option means you don’t have to install and integrate each of the four separate LAMP components, a process which can take hours and requires someone who is skilled in the installation and configuration of the individual applications. Instead, you get...

More playing with BtrFS on Slackware

Posted 05-03-2011 at 07:58 AM by lumak (Lumak's Guide to Random Things)

Ok well I'm done playing with all that for now.

Some issues I have with BtrFS for now are:
- Quotas can not be implemented on subvolumes.
- EDIT: A segfault when trying to use an encrypted volume with either a seed or its rewritable counterpart..
- Slackware does not ship with btrfstune to toggle the seed flag anyway.
- Slackware isn't equipped to multiboot multiple roots from the same btrfs.

However, in general, everything that is supported...
